2009 Young Guns made history as the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) and the American Simmental Association (ASA) co-hosted the annual leadership conference.   In case you didn't make it to Bozeman this past July, we are providing a pdf file of the entire proceedings.

Young Guns 2009 Proceedings

On August 18, 2009, U.S. Premium Beef (USPB) announced the extension of a $35 per head, Age and Source Verification (ASV) premium through May 29, 2010. This premium will be paid on  ASV cattle that are 20 months of age or younger and are marketed through USPB.  Included with that announcement, was a report of grid premiums totaling $64 per head (including the $35 per head ASV premium) for all USPB ASV cattle marketed through the company's Kansas plants during fiscal year 2009.  The Red Angus Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP) is approved at both the ranch and feedlot levels to supply ASV cattle to USPB.
