Merit Award Program

The Merit Award Program (MAP) rewards the individual merits, hard work and accomplishments of all aspects of a JRA member’s involvement with Red Angus. The comprehensive application details Red Angus activities and involvements of the applicant – including Association Activities, Competition, Performance/Production, Promotions/Marketing and Leadership.

Each year, applications for MAP will be due on May 1 (applications will run on a May 1 to May 1 calendar year). Each question on the application is assigned a point value and the applications are scored accordingly. In the “advanced” division (anyone 13 years of age and older), the individual attaining the highest point score will be awarded a Round-Up Scholarship of $750 ($375 registration fee waiver and $375 to apply toward travel to Round-Up); second place individual will receive a $500 reward ($375 registration fee waiver for Round-Up and $125 to apply toward travel); third place individual will receive a $375 Round-Up registration fee waiver. For the “beginning” division (12 years of age and younger), the top three high-scoring individuals will receive an embroidered Red Angus item.

All applications are due May 1 each year – applications should be e-mailed to Junior Programs Coordinator.
