Red Angus National Junior Show

JUNIOR NATIONAL RED ANGUS SHOW

The 2014 Junior Red Angus National Show will be held in conjunction with the National Red Angus Open Show, in Fort Worth, Texas. Show date for 2014 is Saturday, February 1 for the Junior Show; Sunday, February 2 for the Open Show.

Entries in the Junior National Red Angus Show are subject to all show rules and regulations printed in the RAAA Breeders Guide. The Breeders Guide may be found at redangus.org/registration/breeders-guide.

JUNIOR SHOW CLASSIFICATION:

a. To be eligible to show in the Red Angus National Junior Show, each exhibitor must be a current, active member of the National Junior Red Angus Association.

b. Junior exhibitors must be the only recorded owner on record in the RAAA database of each animal(s) they exhibit.

c. If the exhibitor is not the first owner on record in the RAAA database of the animal entered in the Red Angus National Junior Show, they must have had a transfer of ownership completed so that the owner on record is identified in the RAAA database as the junior member for a period of not less than 60 days prior to the publicized date of show.  (Rev. 12-10).

d. Bulls exhibited in the Red Angus National Junior Show must be under 18 months of age as of the publicized show date and be bred and owned by the exhibitor.

e. Following processing, the number of entries of Bred and Owned females and bulls will be evaluated by an authorized representative of the RAAA, and classes will be set according to the age that best encourages fair competition.

2014 Junior Red Angus National Show

Saturday, February 1, 4:00 p.m.,  Ft. Worth Stock Show and Rodeo, Ft. Worth, Texas

*NOTE: Cattle entered in the Junior Red Angus National Show and the National Red Angus Open Show will require separate entries - one per animal for each show.

*Note: Please make certain that you enter the Junior Red Angus National Show for February 1 and not the Ft. Worth breeding heifer show which is  Sunday, January 26.  The entry forms must show the National Shows to be entered for Feb. 1 and 2.

Entry fees:

National Junior Division Show: $30 per head

National Open Division Show: $30 per head

*Note: There will be three divisions of showmanship (no separate entry fee required) in the Junior Red Angus National Show:

Junior: 12 years and younger, day of show

Intermediate: 13 - 15 years of age, day of show

Senior:  16 -20 years of age, day of show

 

NATIONAL JUNIOR DIVISION CLASSES

SPECIAL NATIONAL JUNIOR SHOW RULES

1. To be eligible to show in the Red Angus National Junior Show, each exhibitor must be a member of the National Junior Red Angus Association.

2. Exhibitors must be the only recorded owner on record in the RAAA database of each animal(s) they exhibit excluding bred and owned bulls. (See Rule 4 below for Bred and Owned bull ownership requirements.)

3. If the exhibitor is not the first owner on record in the RAAA database of the animal entered in the Red Angus National Junior Show they must have had a transfer of ownership completed so that the owner on record is identified in the RAAA database as the Junior member prior to Dec. 1, 2013.

4. Bulls exhibited in the Red Angus National Junior Show must be under 18 (eighteen) months of age (calved after Aug. 2, 2012) as of Feb. 1, 2014 and be bred and owned by the exhibitor and the exhibitor must be recorded owner on record with a minimum of 50% ownership.

5. Following processing, the number of entries of Bred and Owned females and bulls will be evaluated by an authorized representative of the RAAA and classes will be set according to the age that best encourages fair competition.
