JUNIOR NATIONAL RED ANGUS SHOW

The 2012 National Junior Red Angus Show will be held in conjunction with the National Red Angus Open Show, at the National Western Stock Show, Denver, Colorado. Show date for 2012 is Monday, January 9.
Entry deadline is November 21, 2011

Entries in the Junior National Red Angus Show are subject to all show rules and regulations printed in the RAAA Breeders Guide. The Breeders Guide may be found at redangus.org/registration/breeders-guide.

JUNIOR SHOW CLASSIFICATION:

1. To be eligible to show in a nationally sponsored Red Angus Junior Show (the Junior National Red Angus Show), each exhibitor must be a current, active (membership dues paid in full) member of the National Junior Red Angus Association (JRA) and must not be over 21 years of age on July 1st of the fiscal year of the show.
2. Classes for the National Junior Red Angus Show will follow Junior Show Classes (page RR-48, RAAA Breeders Guide).
3. JRA members may show an animal in the National Junior Heifer Show that is owned solely by his/her family’s ranch; or the junior member may show an animal that is owned jointly with other owners but the junior member’s name or the name of his/her family’s ranch must be on the registration certificate. (In the case of purchased animals, see Section J, 11e.) Ownership requirements for the National Junior Heifer Show are also subject to the rules and regulations of the hosting exhibition. (ev. 11-090
4. Unless otherwise provided for by the local show management, all junior heifer entries in the National Junior Heifer Show will be eligible for competition in the open show, providing there is an open show being held concurrently with the National Junior Show.
5. Any purchased animal entered in a National Junior Heifer Show must have been under the ownership of the junior member or a member of the immediate family of the junior member for a period of not less than 60 days prior to the announced date of judging of the National Junior Heifer Show. 7. The only bulls shown in the National Junior Show will be in the Bred and Owned Bull Calf group class. No bulls will be shown in any other class. (Add 6/08)

Note – Bull calf must also be part of a cow/calf entry in class number 26 or 27. Bull calf must be under 250 days of age and still nursing. Junior member must be the breeder and meet the ownership qualifications of the bull calf.
