Industry efforts continue to align producers, feeders, and packers, and introduce quality and consistency through branded beef products. Red Angus cattle enrolled in the FCCP and sold through one of our procurement partners demonstrate superior carcass traits. Overall, Certified Red Angus Cattle are producing carcasses that consistently meet specifications for approved branded beef product lines.

Carcasses weigh between 550 & 950 pounds 98.9% of the time.

72.8% of the carcasses qualify for the USDA Choice grade or higher. Of those grading Choice, 37.8% qualify for approved "Angus" products and other premium branded beef programs.

Cargill Meat Solutions, the second largest beef packer in the country, is the major partner of the Red Angus Association's Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP). Cargill Meat Solutions demonstrates a strong dedication towards the production and supply of quality branded beef products, and is the perfect partner of Red Angus in the central U.S. Producers and feeders have the ability to market certified Red Angus cattle to Cargill Meat Solutions at one of three packing plants

• Dodge City, Kansas
• Fort Morgan, Colorado
• Schuyler, Nebraska

Upon meeting specifications, certified Red Angus cattle are eligible to supply Cargill Meat Solutions' premium branded product lines

Pricing of certified Red Angus can be done in several fashions

• Red Angus Marketing Agreement
• Live cash market
• In the meat
• Forward contract (with or without a pricing grid)
• Additional Cargill Meat Solutions pricing system through Angus America

As the RAAA and Cargill Meat Solutions enter into their fifth year of partnership, the program continues to grow and become more profitable for all involved. Cargill Meat Solutions has more than 30 buyers that purchase and schedule cattle to the three Cargill Meat Solutions plants listed above.
