The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) is once again excited to sponsor Superior Livestock Auction’s summer sale line up. The sales kick off at the Week in the Rockies in beautiful Steamboat Springs, Colo., June 27 – July 1.

Beef Improvement Federation leadership changed hands at the end of the research seminar and annual meeting held in Bozeman, Mont., June 1-5, which included election of the 2011-2012 board of directors. Three Red Angus producers will assume new roles within the Federation.

Cassandra “Cassie” Kniebel of White City, Kan., received the prestigious Roy A. Wallace Memorial Scholarship during the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) research seminar and annual meeting in Bozeman, Mont., June 1-5.

Mushrush Red Angus of Strong City, Kan., was named the 2011 Seedstock Producer of the Year at the Beef Improvement Federation (BIF) research symposium and annual meeting held in Bozeman, Mont., June 1-4.

Jennifer Noble of Mitchell, Neb., joined the Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) team in June as communications director. She will work closely with Red Angus affiliates, individual members and Red Angus marketing programs.

Spring and early summer is harvest season for a majority of the nation’s fed cattle, and cattlemen and feeders are now reflecting on the carcass data from this year’s crop. Producers who utilize the Red Angus Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP) tag may submit their carcass data to be considered for the distinguished GridMaster award.

Ranchers are taking advantage of value-added programs to increase the profitability of their calf crop, and each year more producers are enrolling their Red Angus-influenced calves in the Feeder Calf Certification Program (FCCP). 

Red Angus junior members from across the United States will “Follow the Red Angus Road” to Kansas and Missouri at the Junior Round-Up held June 21–26, 2011. The Junior Red Angus Association of America (JRA) will host its 21st annual Junior Round-Up, an annual event rotated around the country each year.
