The video tutorial can be found here.

All the REDSPRo tutorials, developed by RAAA staff, are uploaded on the website and can be found here

The online Purechat feature of the site is also available for members to access for assistance when using the system.

Spring 2016 EPDs Now Available

Spring 2016 EPDs now uploaded

The season for bull sales is here and busy cattlemen will now have the most up-to-date information available as they make genetic selections to be used in their herds. The Red Angus Association of America (RAAA) has released the 2016 Spring EPDs that evaluate traits from calving ease to performance to carcass merit. The suite of numbers includes tools to select cattle with optimum economic relevance such as stayability, heifer pregnancy and maintenance energy requirements.

The Red Angus breed has been dedicated to Total Herd Reporting (THR) for two decades, creating an accurate database of Red Angus genetics and subsequently, EPDs trusted by ranchers. EPDs are displayed with their in-breed ranking percentile to assist cattle producers with their trait selection decisions. For more details on the updated data reference the Genetics section of the RAAA website.

Herd Navigator

Guiding Commercial Female Selection

While operating in the current revenue rich environment is certainly enjoyable, producers must realize that the stakes have been raised. Now, more than ever, producers must be making the correct decisions when it comes to selecting their replacement females. Through Red Angus’ newly released Herd Navigator DNA test, profit demanding producers now have the opportunity to obtain a genetic assessment on Red Angus-sired commercial females. For a minimal $25/head, the Herd Navigator evaluates each female’s DNA profile and assesses each trait in which RAAA calculates EPDs for, including the newly released selection indices. Thus, providing commercial producers with a roadmap for cowherd success.
