Fed cattle in the northern and southern plains were lower with feeder cattle and stocker calves slightly lower. Live cattle and feeder cattle futures were down ever so slightly and the boxed beef cutouts were steady.

Fed cattle trade in the south and north was $2 lower at $188 and $196. The feeder steer national average was $264.76 which was $0.13 lower, with trade mostly $3 lower to $2 higher. Stocker steers averaged $315.70, which was $0.67 lower with trade $3 to $2 higher.

The Choice cutout was steady at $313.77 and the Select cutout was $297.17. This made the Choice/Select spread $16.60, $0.29 wider than the week before. Cutter cows were up $0.43 at $292.67 and slaughter cows ranged from $3 to $2 higher.
