The Fed Cattle Markets in the North and South closed the week $4 lower, with both markets settling at $181 for the week. The front three months of live cattle trade closed the week down $9.70 to $10.90.
The national average price for feeder steers closed $5.06 lower than week opening, settling at $236.15. Feeder cattle futures closed the week down $10.88 to $13.73 over the front three months of trade.
Stocker calves traded more evenly on the week, closing the week down only $0.49 at $277.05.
Cutouts for the week also closed lower. The Choice cutout closed $1.88 lower at $300.46, while the Select cutout was down $4.59 at $267.42. This caused the Choice/Select spread to strengthen $2.71, closing at $33.04.  The cutter cow cutout closed at $229.19, $2.50 lower than week opening. Slaughter cow trade varied from $2 higher to $4 lower.
