The new Red Angus Stakeholder’s Foundation is up and running! More than $25,000 was raised to support RASF at the 70th Annual National Red Angus Convention last week in Denver. Kyley DeVoe, RAAA president from Justin, Texas, said, “It was a great time raising funds for the RASF! Thank you to all who donated sale items and to those who bought items.”
RASF is chartered in Colorado, in alignment with the location of the RAAA office. Its 501(c)(3) status as a charitable organization is pending, but is expected to be received from the Internal Revenue Service during the first half of 2024. All donations given in 2023 can be considered tax deductible. However, each donor should consult with their tax accountant and/or call the RAAA office if they have questions.
We appreciate all those who contributed to RASF’s first fundraising event. The purpose of the foundation is to support the Red Angus breed through youth activities, research and education.
We especially thank Barenthsen-Bullinger Red Angus, Powers Lake, North Dakota, for donating the pick of their 2023-born heifer calves, as well as Klompien Red Angus, Manhattan, Montana, and Murdock Cattle Co., Pendleton, Oregon, for teaming up to purchase the heifer pick for $12,000.
RASF is off to a great start thanks to the help of RAAA members!
