DENVER — The Red Angus Association of America is pleased to announce the hiring of Taylor Dorsey, Eaton, Colorado, as its junior programs coordinator.
Dorsey comes to RAAA with a wealth of experience in youth activities and event planning. Most recently, she served as the media and activities assistant at the North American Limousin Foundation, after serving as the agribusiness coordinator at the Tulsa State Fair and Expo Square. Dorsey completed internships with the American Angus Association, National Western Stock Show and American Hereford Association. She is a past board member of the American Junior Maine-Anjou Association, serving as president from 2017-2018. Dorsey earned her bachelor's degree in animal science from Oklahoma State University in 2019.
"I was thrilled to accept the position and become a part of the Red Angus team," Dorsey said. "I'm looking forward to working with JRA members and the JRA board of directors to help guide them into becoming the industry's future leaders. I'm excited to plan fun and educational opportunities for junior members to be able to grow their knowledge and skill set."
One of Dorsey's main projects will be planning and executing the first Red Angus Youth Expo, to be held June 9-14, 2024, in Chickasha, Oklahoma. She will also work with the Junior Red Angus board of directors to provide educational events and leadership opportunities for Red Angus youth members.
"Taylor has an excellent background and work experience to step in and hit the ground running," said Tom Brink, RAAA CEO. "She is a great addition to our team and will continue to grow and expand our already strong junior programs."
