Details: 700 Running Age Cows, 80% Red, 20% Black, few BWF, Ages 4-7 years (Will all be mouthed to verify), Mostly March/April calving with few May Calving. Bred to Home raised DNA tested, Zia Ag Red & Black Angus Bulls. Bulls were put in End of May – Early June until present, at rates of 1 bull per 10 cows to ensure early breed up. All to be mouthed, preg checked and sorted into calving increments of March/April, May. Mouth status, Solid Mouth (Good tall block, no teeth missing) & Short Solid (Worn, spread at gum line or missing 1 tooth) Etc. All Short Solid mouths will be sorted off and sold separately to Solid Mouths, unless otherwise requested.

These Cows run out in big country and are never fed or pampered. They do not get fed hay, They are supplemented with bag cake and free choice loose mineral. They are Fancy made, mostly moderate frame Cows weighing approx. 1200-1300# and have an incredible disposition. They are extremely gentle and very quiet to be around, they are worked with Horses and 4 wheelers.

Ranch Background; Family Owned and operated New Mexico Ranch dating back 100+ Years, All Cows currently run in Gap certified, DNA Tested Herd to produce Calves that have desirable high feed efficiency, high marbling, high weaning and high yearling weight traits. If they don’t make the cut they are not kept in the cow herd! 100% of the calves are retained and are also DNA tested and fed to fats on an NHTC, Gap certified program and have many years of data. A very exciting opportunity to procure some Fancy Northern Bred Cows to Replenish or start your own Herd, the only reason these females are for sale due to an onset of Dry, Hot weather and a shortage of Water. These cows are currently having 450-550# calves weaned and being shipped from various locations in NM to a feed yard in La Junta Colorado where we can work, and disperse from a central location.
